About the position

The position involves working within Autodesk's Media and Entertainment Industry Futures research group, focusing on creating virtual environments and exploring AI-powered workflows, simulations, and playable experiences. The role emphasizes investigating emerging AI technologies and their applications in media creation, while also contributing to research engineering efforts and collaborating with team members to enhance project outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Rapidly prototype virtual environments / games / simulations
• Develop, refine, and explore the behavior of AI-powered agents within those environments
• Find and evaluate novel applications of emerging AI technologies to empower and improve existing software, techniques, or workflows
• Support research efforts by developing software prototypes, pipelines, interfaces, and algorithms
• Work effectively as a member of a team, with minimum supervision
• Find effective compromises when receiving complex requirements from multiple sources
• Produce clear, concise, correct technical material and documentation

Requirements

• Working towards a degree in computer science or related field
• Demonstratable experience developing with a real time engine (e.g. Unreal Engine / Unity / Godot / etc.)
• Demonstratable experience working on an AI based solution
• Robust understanding of fundamental machine learning concepts
• Adaptability to rapidly learn and employ new tools & platforms
• Experience could be demonstrated with evidence of work experience, university work or personal projects

Nice-to-haves

• Experience developing for VR, AR, XR, & mobile
• Experience with python
• Experience developing (or developing with) Machine Learning models
• Experience in other programming languages
• Experience with web development and frameworks
