The Intern Respiratory Services position at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital involves assisting in the delivery of Respiratory Care to patients, ensuring a safe and positive patient experience. Responsibilities

• Perform patient screening paperwork and assist with patient transport.
• Maintain supplies and provide general assistance to patients and staff.
• Ensure that patient preps, orders, pre-certs, consents, questionnaires, histories, and protocol sheets are completed accurately.
• Uphold infection prevention standards.
• Provide necessary patient information to Respiratory Therapy staff.
• Assist Respiratory Therapists in day-to-day operations by maintaining supply levels and monitoring equipment.
• Ensure patient area is organized and restock supplies as necessary.
• Assist in maintaining a clean, safe, and clutter-free clinical environment.
• Help answer routine patient questions during procedures.
• Observe patients and report changes in condition to appropriate staff.
• Coordinate patient procedure times with appropriate staff.
• Assist with filing, inputting patient information, and collecting documents.
• Transport patients as needed.
• Perform other related duties as required.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a degree from an AMA approved Respiratory Program.
• BLS/ACLS Certification required.
• Knowledge of infection control policies related to patient care.
• Ability to work efficiently as a team member across clinical settings.
