About the position

The Social Media Intern at American Modern Insurance Group will participate in a 12-week summer internship program designed to provide practical experience in the insurance industry. The intern will work closely with a mentor and contribute to the organization's brand awareness and growth objectives through various social media channels. This role offers opportunities for professional and personal growth, networking, and community outreach.

Responsibilities

• Supports the organization's brand awareness and growth objectives by communicating to audiences on social channels such as Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, and more.
• Writes and edits social media communications (social media captions, blog articles, etc.).
• Plans and schedules social media campaigns and day-to-day activities.
• Curates and researches relevant content to reach the company's ideal audience.
• Looks for opportunities to expand reach, engagement, and audience growth.
• Reacts to seasonal and timely events with relevant, branded content.
• Collaborates with Content Marketing Manager on monthly social media calendars.

Requirements

• Rising junior or senior pursuing a bachelor's degree in journalism, Marketing, Communications, or English.
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills are required; creative writing skills are preferred.
• Some familiarity with Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and YouTube as well as standard social media content best practices.
• Hands-on; results-oriented; ability to prioritize objectives and meet timelines.
• Self-motivated, proactive, capable of working independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to work 40 hours per week for 12 weeks.
• Authorized to work in the United States of America.
• Candidates must be local (Amelia, OH) and will work in the office Tuesdays and Thursdays.
