About the position

The Software Application Engineer Intern position at Keysight Technologies is an onsite internship for the summer of 2025, located in Loveland, Colorado. The intern will work within the Aerospace & Defense Custom Solutions Group, collaborating with firmware and system engineers to develop software and firmware solutions for RF Switch Matrix instruments. This role is designed for rising college seniors pursuing degrees in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related fields, and emphasizes teamwork, technical skills, and effective communication.

Responsibilities

• Developing the software and firmware portion of the solution using a broad array of tools to solve customer test challenges.
• Working with customers to understand their problems and mapping out the requirements.
• Architecting the solution and helping to develop it.
• Delivering the solution and training the customer on its operation.
• Providing support to keep the solution operational.

Requirements

• Must be matriculated in a program for BS/MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• Completion of all coursework of junior year in relevant engineering disciplines with a projected graduation date in late 2025 or mid 2026.
• Minimum GPA of 3.5 in core engineering courses.
• Demonstrated technical skills and aptitude through work experience or applicable technical internship.
• Software development experience in C++/C#.
• Knowledge of software architecture, embedded Linux OS, and software drivers to control various hardware busses.
• Strong understanding of firmware, RF, and radar solutions.
• Effective presentation and problem-solving skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience and/or interest in the Aerospace Defense industry.
• Familiarity with S-Parameter measurements using Keysight's PNA/VNA instruments.
• Familiarity with Atlassian development tools: Confluence, Jira, and BitBucket.
