The Supply Chain Optimization Intern position at Volvo Group offers a unique opportunity for students to engage in real-world applications of their academic knowledge within the field of supply chain management. This internship is part of the Demand and Inventory Planning (DIP) / Operational Planning (OP) North America team within the Supply Chain Optimization (SCO) organization. Interns will support the Demand and Inventory Planning team by building and enhancing supply chain data analytics tools, which are crucial for optimizing logistics and ensuring the highest possible parts availability and delivery precision. Interns will work closely with professionals in the field, gaining hands-on experience while contributing to projects that drive business performance in service market logistics. The role emphasizes the importance of leveraging data to solve complex problems and improve existing supply chain optimization models. Interns will have the chance to develop their skills in advanced analytics tools such as Power BI and programming languages like Python and R, while also learning about supply chain concepts such as economic order quantity and inventory health. This internship is designed to be a structured learning experience, allowing interns to integrate their knowledge and skills in a mutually beneficial manner. Interns will be expected to participate in professional activities, including project presentations and weekly writing assignments, which will help them develop their communication and presentation skills. Throughout the internship, interns will receive feedback on their performance, culminating in a formal evaluation at the end of the experience. The internship is flexible, requiring up to 30 hours per week during the Spring 2025 semester, with specific work days and hours to be agreed upon with the hiring manager.
