About the position

The Technical Program Manager Intern at Lumen will participate in a fully immersive 10-week summer internship program, focusing on digital transformation initiatives. The intern will work closely with the Systems Transformation Team and the Director of Operations to manage business cases, collaborate with stakeholders, and support financial modeling and IT governance processes. This role emphasizes continuous improvement and the ability to analyze and optimize business processes.

Responsibilities

  • Writing and managing digital transformation business cases
  • Capturing benefits (qualitative and quantitative) with business stakeholders
  • Creating financial models in support of business case requirements and capital governance process
  • Updating IT project intake applications/systems in collaboration with IT governance teams
  • Developing automation for data, analytics, and reporting with IT Governance and internal reporting analytic teams
  • Managing value-based Intake and Governance program reporting, status reporting, and tracking program interdependencies
  • Actively managing risks/issues and promoting continuous improvement in business processes.

Requirements

  • Enrolled at a 4-year accredited college or university, rising senior level education status at the start of the internship
  • Graduating between August 2025 and May 2027
  • Preferred fields include Business, Computer Science, Economics or related field
  • Ability to work 40 hours per week during the 10-week program (May 30 - August 8, 2025)
  • US work authorization is required; individuals needing visa sponsorship are not eligible
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite
  • Strong drive for results and taking initiative
  • Ability to collaborate and make effective decisions
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to express technical details clearly
  • Eager to learn and adapt to new technologies
  • Team player with problem-solving skills.
