About the position

Lumen is offering a fully immersive, 10-week summer internship program designed for students who are eager to learn and contribute to digital transformation initiatives. Interns will engage in various responsibilities that support business case development, financial modeling, and process improvement, all while working in a collaborative remote environment. This internship aims to empower participants to reach their full potential and contribute to Lumen's mission of connecting the world through technology.

Responsibilities

• Writing and managing digital transformation business cases
• Working with business stakeholders to capture benefits (qualitative and quantitative)
• Collaborating with finance partners to create financial models in support of business case requirements and capital governance process
• Updating IT project intake applications/systems in partnership with Information Technology governance teams
• Developing automation for data, analytics, and reporting in collaboration with IT Governance and internal reporting analytic teams
• Managing value-based Intake and Governance program reporting, status reporting, and tracking program interdependencies
• Actively managing risks/issues and promoting continuous improvement in business processes.

Requirements

• Enrolled at a 4-year accredited college or university, with rising senior level education status at the start of the internship
• Graduating between August 2025 and May 2027
• Preferred fields include Business, Computer Science, Economics, or related fields
• Ability to work 40 hours per week during the 10-week program (May 30 - August 8, 2025)
• US work authorization is required; individuals needing visa sponsorship are not eligible
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite
• Strong drive for results and taking initiative
• Ability to collaborate and make effective decisions
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Detail-oriented with the ability to express technical details clearly
• Eager to learn and adapt to new technologies
• Team player with problem-solving skills.
