About the position
The Test Intern position at Plexus involves working on Automated Inspection Equipment, including X-Ray, AOI, or AAD systems. The intern will develop assembly-specific inspection programs used in the manufacturing process and collaborate with team members to ensure effective operation and troubleshooting of test equipment. This role is designed for students pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, providing hands-on experience in a global company focused on innovation and customer service.
Responsibilities
- Support the development and sustain test and inspection programs for manufacturing test platforms.
- Assist in creating training materials for Operators or Manufacturing Test Technicians.
- Troubleshoot and debug test equipment and software, supporting root cause failure analysis.
- Monitor data for continuous improvement opportunities related to yields or cost reductions.
- Collaborate with planners and manufacturing Supervisors/Leads to prioritize production schedules.
- Lead test/program acceptance and calibration of equipment.
- Identify problems from test procedures and results, making recommendations for improvements.
- Work from specifications, technical manuals, schematics, and verbal or written instructions.
- Compile and record test results.
Requirements
- Student working toward a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or a related Engineering field for the entire duration of the internship.
- Junior level status preferred.
- GPA of 3.0 or higher is preferred.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Strong communication skills.
