Our Test interns work with a team of engineers and industry professionals to develop and test Rockwell hardware and optimize industrial operations. You will have the opportunity to be a significant contributor, while getting comprehensive exposure to the business structure of Rockwell Automation and how we are helping our customers bring the Connected Enterprise to life. Our test roles fall into 2 categories: * Electrical Development: Research new or replacement technologies and components, assist in circuit design and component selection, develop test requirements and execute hardware verification test plans for board level functional testing, EMC validation, Certification Agency compliance (UL, ATEX, IECEX), and Functional Safety (IEC 61508). Perform programming, analysis, and troubleshooting of electronic hardware prototypes. Contribute to associated product design documentation and test reports. * Electrical Test: if you like pushing products to their limits to meet the rigid standards of industrial components, you will be interested in these activities, which include: design and development of scripts for automating test procedures, documenting of test procedures, execution of test procedures for verification of product functionality (manual/automated), creation of test reports, assistance with lab audit/improvement activities, assist with build and commissioning of test hardware platforms. Requirements

  • Must be pursuing a bachelor's or advanced degree from an accredited college or university
  • Legal authorization to work in the US is required

Nice-to-haves

  • Pursuing a bachelor's or advanced degree in Electrical Engineering or similar from an accredited college or university
  • Cumulative GPA of 2.75 on a 4.0 scale
  • Experience with Power Electronics or motors
  • Experience with design capture tools
  • Ability to work with schematic drawings
  • Basic knowledge of circuit theory and operation, including microprocessors, digital logic devices, analog and/or DC-power conversion, programmable devices (CPLDs, FPGAs)
  • Basic programming skills (C++, C#, Java, Python or JavaScript)
  • Familiarity with tools such as CAD, Creoparametic, ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning), 3D Modeling, SAP, Matlab
  • Experience with industrial automation environments including PLC or drives programming
  • Experience using Agile methodology
