As an Intern in the Treasury & Financial Planning team at Invenergy, you will have the unique opportunity to work with an excellent team to understand how Invenergy manages liquidity both domestically and internationally. This includes cash management, short-term cash forecasting, credit support, foreign exchange, and investments. You will gain hands-on professional experience while expanding your knowledge and skills in the clean energy industry. The internship program runs from June to August, lasting for 10-12 weeks, and offers various opportunities for personal and professional growth. During your internship, you will engage with leaders throughout the organization through weekly lunch-and-learns, visit nearby power plants such as the Grand Ridge Energy Center and Nelson Energy Center, and participate in community service through the Volunteer Time Off program. You will also have the chance to have lunch with our CEO and Founder, Michael Polsky, and attend networking mixers to connect with representatives from various affinity groups, including the Women’s Network, LGBTQ+, Black & Brown, and Veteran’s Network. Additionally, you will explore Chicago with your fellow interns, making this a well-rounded and enriching experience. Your responsibilities will include gaining an understanding of the financial close process for Invenergy's transactions, contributing to the overall cash management strategy, assisting with the ongoing updates and continued build-out of the new GTreasury (our Treasury Management System), overseeing bank fee analysis across multiple banks, and assisting with FBAR activities. You will also assist with daily investment and foreign exchange transactions, conduct ongoing analysis of key business drivers, trends, and metrics, and provide recommendations on actions and next steps. Furthermore, you will assist with monthly and quarterly reporting on relevant operational and financial metrics across corporate overhead and all of Invenergy's business segments, contribute to the monthly preparation and review of the company-wide budget vs. actual performance, and take the lead on one process improvement project over the course of the summer under the guidance of the team.
