About the position

As an Intern in the Treasury & Financial Planning team at Invenergy, you will have the unique opportunity to work with an excellent team to understand how Invenergy manages liquidity both domestically and internationally. This includes cash management, short-term cash forecasting, credit support, foreign exchange, and investments. You will gain hands-on professional experience while expanding your knowledge and skills in the clean energy industry. The internship program is designed to foster personal and professional growth, providing a workplace where you will feel a sense of ownership and belonging. Throughout the internship, you will engage with leaders across the organization and participate in weekly lunch-and-learns to learn more about the clean energy industry. You will also have the chance to visit nearby power plants, such as the Grand Ridge Energy Center and Nelson Energy Center, and spend a day giving back to the community through our ‘Volunteer Time Off' program. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to have lunch with our CEO and Founder, Michael Polsky, and attend a networking mixer to connect with representatives from various affinity groups, including the Women's Network, LGBTQ+, Black & Brown, and Veteran's Network. The internship will last for 10-12 weeks, from June to August, and will provide you with a comprehensive understanding of the financial close process for Invenergy's transactions, including bank account activities, collateral replacement, and their impact on financial statements. You will contribute to the overall cash management strategy, assist with daily cash forecasting activities, and help with the ongoing updates and build-out of our Treasury Management System, GTreasury. You will also oversee bank fee analysis, assist with FBAR activities, and conduct ongoing analysis of key business drivers, trends, and metrics, providing recommendations on actions and next steps. Furthermore, you will assist with monthly and quarterly reporting on operational and financial metrics across corporate overhead and all of Invenergy's business segments, contribute to the preparation and review of the company-wide budget vs. actual performance, and take the lead on one process improvement project during the summer under the guidance of the team.
