About the position

The Risk Management and Insurance Intern Program at Braishfield Associates offers a dynamic opportunity for students to gain real-world experience in the insurance industry. This paid internship, lasting 10 weeks with a 40-hour work week over the summer, is designed to provide an introduction to Excess and Surplus Lines Wholesale Insurance, while allowing interns to work closely with underwriters and learn about the company's operations and culture. The program aims to identify future sales talent and potentially lead to full-time opportunities within the organization.

Responsibilities

• Assist/Shadow Underwriters in reviewing New Business and Renewal accounts.
• Receive a general overview of the carriers we partner with.
• Introduction to Commercial Lines Underwriting.
• Educated on routine file setup and standard file documentation procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a college or university degree program.
• Have an interest in Risk Management and Insurance.
• Sales & Production driven mentality.
• Proficient with MS Office Suite.
• Exceptional telephone demeanor.
• Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
• Must be detail oriented and possess the ability to multi-task.
• Commitment to excellent customer service.
• Ability to effectively work well with others.
• Be a Team Player with a Positive Attitude.
