About the position
The Internal Audit Intern will support the audit team within Simplot's Global Services, contributing to the effectiveness of the internal audit function. This internship is designed for students pursuing a degree in finance, accounting, or business, and will involve flexible working hours of around 20 hours per week during the academic year, increasing to 40 hours per week during the summer.
Responsibilities
- Performance and documentation of internal audit compliance, financial, or process audit projects.
- Applying fundamental concepts, practices and procedures, and analytical skills to internal audit projects.
- Gathering and analyzing financial data to identify discrepancies and areas for improvement.
- Participating in testing internal controls to ensure they are effective and compliant with regulations.
- Communicating with audit team and other departments to gather necessary information.
- Performing administrative tasks such as maintaining/archiving audit files, updating workbooks, reviewing/refreshing data analytics models.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a finance, accounting, or business degree with at least junior status.
- Minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Ability to communicate with all levels of an organization.
Nice-to-haves
- Ability to utilize Power BI to analyze data and document results.
- Ability to meet deadlines and work in a team environment.
