The Internal Audit Team Lead, IT & Operations plays a crucial role in supporting the internal audit department by delivering independent audits and assessments. This position involves evaluating IT and business risks, ensuring compliance with regulations, and assessing the adequacy of internal controls and business processes. The goal is to ensure financial data integrity and information security while providing valuable recommendations to management. The Internal Audit Lead will also support departmental goals, project deliverables, and special projects, contributing to the overall success of the audit function. The ideal candidate for this position is a highly motivated and experienced individual with a strong background in audit, security, or IT within the manufacturing sector. They should demonstrate leadership potential and possess strong technical, financial, and operational competencies. The Internal Audit Lead must have excellent organizational skills and the ability to build and foster relationships throughout the audit process, ensuring credibility and effective communication at all levels. This role requires active leadership in audits from planning to reporting, with a focus on achieving high-quality standards and customer satisfaction. In addition to leading audit engagements, the Internal Audit Lead will assist the management team in developing enterprise-wide risk planning and recalibrating plans based on risk intelligence. They will prepare comprehensive audit reports, including executive summaries and detailed findings, ensuring that the reports influence decision-making and drive necessary changes. The position requires effective management of resources to deliver audits on time and within budget, as well as efficient execution of audit follow-ups. The Internal Audit Lead will also prepare reports for the Audit Committee and Senior Management, contributing to the overall governance and risk management framework of American Woodmark.

Responsibilities

  • Support the internal audit department in delivering independent audits and assessments.
  • Evaluate IT and business risks, regulatory compliance, and internal controls.
  • Provide value-added recommendations to management based on audit findings.
  • Assist in developing enterprise-wide risk planning and recalibrating plans based on risk intelligence.
  • Lead end-to-end planning for audit engagements and coordinate with the team for effective readiness.
  • Prepare high-quality audit reports, including executive summaries and detailed findings.
  • Ensure audits are delivered on time and on budget, managing resources effectively.
  • Execute procedures for audit follow-ups efficiently and effectively.
  • Prepare reports for the Audit Committee and Senior Management.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 5 years experience in audit (IT/operations), security or IT in manufacturing.
  • Strong knowledge of IT/operational audit requirements and regulatory requirements related to Sarbanes-Oxley.
  • Minimum of 3 years of manufacturing experience.
  • Familiarity with audit work programs.
  • Bachelor's Degree in General Business, Computer Science, MIS, or related discipline.
  • Professional certifications CIA, CISA preferred.
  • Strong organizational abilities and technical proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
