About the position

The Internal Communications Manager at STO Building Group plays a pivotal role in fostering a strong company culture by ensuring that all employees are engaged and informed. This position is responsible for developing and executing comprehensive internal communication strategies that align with the company's objectives and enhance employee engagement. The manager will work closely with various Functional Partner Groups (FPG) such as HR, IT, Accounting, Finance, Procurement, Legal, and Safety to define communication objectives, craft messages, and measure the effectiveness of communication programs. The role involves planning and strategizing internal campaigns throughout the year, including Learning 360 and Client 360 initiatives, while also supporting the internal aspects of external campaigns like Safety 360 and Innovation 360. The Internal Communications Manager will collaborate with other communication team members to ensure consistent messaging across all platforms and will be responsible for managing, drafting, and editing internal communication materials. Additionally, the manager will oversee the content creation for the company's social responsibility report and establish best practices for employee communications that can be utilized across the organization. This position also aims to drive employee morale and engagement, particularly among new hires, and to position STOBG as an employer of choice. The manager will work with HR to develop an employee engagement plan that aligns with the company's business objectives and community affairs activities. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in communications, with a focus on innovative solutions to enhance employee engagement and communication effectiveness.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute internal communication strategies to enhance employee engagement.
  • Collaborate with FPG leaders to define communication objectives and messages.
  • Plan and strategize internal 360° campaigns throughout the calendar year.
  • Support internal components of external campaigns led by other team members.
  • Manage, draft, and edit internal communications materials.
  • Oversee content creation for the company's social responsibility report.
  • Establish best practices in employee communications across the organization.
  • Contribute innovative solutions to drive employee engagement and morale.
  • Develop an external employer of choice brand and messaging to support recruitment.
  • Work with HR to create an employee engagement plan aligned with business objectives.

Requirements

  • Post-secondary degree in communications, journalism, English, marketing, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 to 8 years of experience in professional communications.
  • Exemplary verbal and written communication skills with a solid grasp of grammar, style, and tone.
  • Experience in digital strategies and data analysis to support communication goals.
  • In-depth knowledge of effective communication strategies, including storytelling and video components.
  • Strong interpersonal and analytical abilities to work with various employee levels.
  • Ability to identify campaign goals and communicate effectively with leaders and team members.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe programs.
