About the position

The Internal Communication Specialist plays a crucial role in shaping and delivering effective internal communication strategies that support the organization’s goals and objectives. This position requires a seasoned professional with over 7 years of experience in communication, who will be responsible for writing, editing, reviewing, and overseeing the release of various internal communication documents and programs. The specialist will ensure that all communication materials are not only accurate but also engaging and aligned with the company’s messaging and branding. In this role, the Internal Communication Specialist will edit and enhance a variety of internal communication materials, which include but are not limited to intranet content, newsletters, emails, memos, webcasts, and speeches. A key responsibility will be to review and edit essential internal communications prior to their dissemination, ensuring that they meet the highest standards of accuracy, clarity, and appropriateness. This attention to detail is vital for maintaining the integrity of the organization’s internal messaging. The specialist will also coordinate internal communication efforts with those provided by other departments, particularly those focusing on external communications such as marketing communications and investor relations. This collaboration is essential to ensure a cohesive communication strategy across the organization. Working closely with the executive management team and various departments, the Internal Communication Specialist will stay informed about company developments and trends, which will inform their communication strategies. Additionally, the specialist may assist in the development and implementation of new and existing communication vehicles, contributing to the continuous improvement of internal communication practices within the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Writes, edits, reviews, and oversees the release of internal communication documents and programs that support the organization.
  • Edits and enhances internal communication materials, including intranet, newsletters, emails/memos, webcasts, and speeches.
  • Reviews and edits essential internal communications prior to dissemination to ensure accuracy, clarity, and appropriateness.
  • Coordinates internal communication efforts with those provided by others who focus on external communications (i.e., marketing communications, investor relations).
  • Works closely with the executive management team and departments to keep abreast of company developments and trends.
  • Assists with the development and implementation of new and existing communication vehicles.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in internal communication or a related field.
  • Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
  • Ability to communicate complex information clearly and effectively.
  • Experience with various communication channels, including digital and print media.
  • Proficiency in using communication tools and platforms.

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with artificial intelligence language tools for communication enhancement.
