About the position

Charter Schools USA (CSUSA) is seeking a dedicated Internal Communications Manager to join our Fort Lauderdale team. In this role, you'll be responsible for developing and executing internal communications plans, building relationships and collaborating with other functions on corporate initiatives. This role is pivotal in enhancing our internal communications strategy to align with CSUSA's Mission, Values, and Promise (MVP) initiative, ensuring every member of our vast educational network is informed, engaged, and motivated. The Internal Communications Manager will lead the creation and execution of an innovative internal communications plan that resonates with our organizational culture and drives employee engagement. This includes ensuring that all communications reflect CSUSA's MVP principles, thereby enhancing understanding and commitment across the organization. The role requires close collaboration with senior management and HR to develop and standardize internal communication materials, including videos, brochures, and promotional items, while managing the creation and distribution of recruitment marketing collateral to ensure a consistent and professional internal voice. In addition, the manager will oversee key communication initiatives and maintain a comprehensive annual communications calendar. They will spearhead communication campaigns for major organizational changes, such as new school openings or significant policy updates. The role also involves coordinating and publishing engaging company-wide newsletters, interviews, and updates, employing innovative methods to make regular communications compelling and relevant to all staff levels. Support for managerial communications is another critical aspect of this position, equipping managers with effective tools and templates to ensure clear, consistent messaging within their teams. The manager will also organize training and resources to improve managerial communication skills, aligning with CSUSA's core values. Event coordination is essential, as the manager will assist in organizing and executing all-hands meetings, including logistics and executive presentations, and plan additional forums such as town halls to boost internal engagement and feedback. Finally, the Internal Communications Manager will coordinate small, cross-functional project teams, acting as the central liaison for the creation and management of recruitment marketing assets, while identifying and evaluating effective communication and engagement opportunities within the organization. They will innovate and drive an efficient channel mix tailored to reach diverse employee groups with relevant content.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field.
  • A verified history of implementing communications plans and following through on the delivery of those respective plans.
  • Ability to take initiative and be hands-on with all aspects of preparations and logistics.
  • Comfort and competence in interacting with C-level executives.
  • Superb writing skills -- able to write concisely and interestingly in perfect standard English, on demand and with tight turnarounds.
  • Proven experience in managing internal communications within a large organization.
  • Strong understanding of digital communication platforms and content management systems.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills, able to collaborate with any manager on communications.
  • Ability to strategize and execute multiple projects under tight deadlines.
