About the position

The Internal Communications Specialist at Sargent & Lundy will be a key member of the Corporate Communications team, responsible for executing internal corporate communications strategies to enhance brand reputation and engage employees. This role involves creating informative content for various internal channels, requiring strong writing, editing, and creative skills, as well as the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop effective external communications for a variety of channels, including intranet, e-newsletters, and email that inspires and drives employee engagement.
  • Provide advanced writing and editing support with an emphasis on AP Style.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure messaging is current, accurate, and consistent with core values and brand strategy.
  • Create graphics and visuals to support content.
  • Manage images and other digital assets for internal corporate communications initiatives.
  • Provide ongoing creative and technical support for the internal channels to enhance user experience.
  • Leverage analytics and reports to determine effectiveness, seek continual improvements of communication initiatives, and manage regular reporting.
  • Support crisis communications planning and response activities.
  • Stay up to date and informed on internal communications tools, strategies, and best practices.
  • Support the corporate communications team with other tasks as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, English, or similar.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in a similar role in a corporate environment or agency setting.
  • Excellent technical, business, editing, and creative writing skills.
  • Experience in intranet content development.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple projects with varying deadlines and priorities under pressure.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Confident social skills and ability to interact with all levels of management and vendor partners.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Resourceful problem solver with a solution-based approach to customer service.
  • Basic creative design experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in photo and video editing software is a plus.
  • Familiarity with systems/software such as Simpplr, ContactMonkey, Canva, Adobe Creative Cloud, Microsoft SharePoint, and Microsoft Office 365.
