About the position

The Internal Communications Specialist at Sargent & Lundy plays a vital role in executing corporate communications strategies aimed at enhancing brand reputation and engaging employees. This position involves creating informative content for various internal channels, requiring creativity, strong writing skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. The specialist will interact with senior leadership and must possess excellent communication skills, both written and oral.

Responsibilities

  • Develop effective external communications for various channels, including intranet, e-newsletters, and email to inspire employee engagement.
  • Provide advanced writing and editing support with an emphasis on AP Style.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure messaging is current, accurate, and consistent with core values and brand strategy.
  • Create graphics and visuals to support content.
  • Manage images and other digital assets for internal corporate communications initiatives.
  • Provide ongoing creative and technical support for internal channels to enhance user experience.
  • Leverage analytics and reports to determine effectiveness and seek continual improvements of communication initiatives.
  • Support crisis communications planning and response activities.
  • Stay informed on internal communications tools, strategies, and best practices.
  • Support the corporate communications team with other tasks as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, English, or similar.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in a similar role in a corporate environment or agency setting.
  • Excellent technical, business, editing, and creative writing skills.
  • Experience in intranet content development.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects with varying deadlines and priorities under pressure.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Resourceful problem solver with a solution-based approach to customer service.
  • Basic creative design experience.
  • Experience in photo and video editing software is a plus.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Simpplr and ContactMonkey.
  • Familiarity with Adobe Creative Cloud and Microsoft SharePoint.
