About the position

Sutter SeniorCare PACE is seeking to hire a Board Eligible/Board Certified (BE/BC) Geriatric Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Family Medicine physician to join our clinical team in Sacramento, California. This position is pivotal in providing medical oversight and clinical leadership for the care of elderly patients within our program. The physician will be responsible for ensuring high-quality patient care, regulatory compliance, community involvement, and effective departmental operations. This role combines clinical expertise with compassion, focusing on the unique needs of our elderly patients. As part of the Sutter SeniorCare PACE team, the physician will engage in a multidisciplinary approach to healthcare, working collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive care. The program is designed exclusively for frail older adults, providing high-quality home and community-based healthcare services. The physician will play a crucial role in anticipating problems to help avoid hospitalization and prevent premature nursing home placement, ensuring that our participants receive the best possible care. The position offers a competitive salary starting at $285,000, along with a sign-on bonus and relocation assistance. Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree with active board certification in Geriatric Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Family Medicine.
  • State medical license and eligibility for medical practice in California.
  • Proven experience as a practicing physician specializing in care for elderly patients.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong commitment to patient-centered care and quality improvement.
  • Knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements and healthcare standards.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a nonprofit health plan or similar healthcare setting.
  • Familiarity with PACE (Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly) model.
