About the position
The Teacher for Elementary Spanish Enrichment at Harris Bilingual Elementary is responsible for instructing elementary-level students in Spanish, developing and implementing curriculum, and fostering a supportive learning environment. This role requires collaboration with colleagues and communication with parents to enhance student outcomes while adhering to district and state content standards.
Responsibilities
- Develop, plan, prepare, and implement course content, format, structure, and schedule.
- Create individualized programs of instruction for students.
- Design classroom materials and curriculum, including lesson plans and learning activities.
- Instruct students in various settings: large groups, small groups, and one-on-one.
- Administer, edit, proofread, and grade students' assignments and assessments.
- Create a classroom environment that maximizes instructional opportunities and supervise student behavior.
- Design assessment tasks to demonstrate student understanding and provide meaningful feedback.
- Monitor student growth and progress, adapting support as needed and maintaining documentation.
- Communicate students' progress and needs with parents/guardians and other staff.
- Collaborate with teachers, support personnel, and administrators to enhance instruction.
- Demonstrate a commitment to understanding and accommodating student diversity.
- Participate in department, team, building, and district meetings, as well as professional growth opportunities.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree with proper teaching licensure program required.
- Experience instructing students in a classroom setting preferred.
- Valid Colorado teaching license with appropriate endorsements required.
- CPR and First Aid certifications encouraged.
