About the position

As an Internal Quality Auditor for North America, you will be responsible for executing the global quality audit program to ensure process adherence at any manufacturing, service, or project site in all business units across North America. You will verify the effectiveness of documented processes on-site, ensuring compliance with international standards or internal Hitachi Energy standards. Any gaps identified must be documented, and corrective actions must be pursued until all gaps are closed. The successful execution of the audit program is essential to guarantee stable product and process quality for Hitachi Energy.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive 3-year audit program that covers all operational, project, and service units across North America, updated annually.
  • Organize audit schedule and coordinate detailed audit arrangements with the operation unit manager and the quality manager.
  • Provide an audit summary and deviation report at the end of each visit to the local management team.
  • Archive all audits in a document management system, ensuring deviations have an owner and a due date, and chase all open actions triggered by audits.
  • Use deviation reports to identify structural issues in processes and analyze results quarterly to share with Q&CI Management.
  • Support and coach local process owners in developing robust root cause analysis and process improvements.
  • Identify best-in-class processes during audits and publish them as best practices to the organization.
  • Develop key performance metrics to understand process deviations and demonstrate audit process effectiveness.
  • Uphold core values of safety and integrity.

Requirements

  • University degree: Master or equivalent with a strong technical and manufacturing background.
  • Extensive experience in quality management with formal quality qualifications.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience auditing in an international environment.
  • Certified Six Sigma Green Belt (or equivalent), Quality Management or Auditor training (ISO or other international).
  • Experience in managing global structures with intercultural sensitivity and strong networking skills.
  • Experience managing conflicts in an international environment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Fluent written and spoken English with excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Broad and deep knowledge of theories, tools, and practices used in quality management, continuous improvement, and change management.
  • Experience in conducting root cause analysis and developing corrective action plans.
  • Experience in using quality assurance tools and software.
