About the position

The Internal Wholesaler for Annuities at Principal Financial Group plays a crucial role in driving annuity sales by partnering closely with the Regional Vice President. This position requires expertise in annuities to effectively support registered representatives, enhance product awareness, and address any issues that arise during the sales process. The role is primarily remote, with some travel required for conferences.

Responsibilities

  • Actively contact agents and other target audiences to educate them on annuity products.
  • Assist in developing annuity sales ideas and competitive products.
  • Provide marketing support to increase awareness of annuity products.
  • Serve as the primary contact for agents to address problems on cases as they arise.
  • Participate in committees to work on special projects related to sales.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or eight years of equivalent experience.
  • 4+ years of related experience in financial services.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong math, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to speak clearly and effectively.

Nice-to-haves

  • FINRA Series 6 and 63 exams are strongly preferred at hire.
  • Experience in a sales or marketing role within financial services.
