About the position

The International Logistics Manager at Johns Manville is responsible for overseeing compliance and logistics strategies related to international trade. This role requires expertise in governmental laws and regulations affecting importing and exporting products, as well as the development and implementation of logistics strategies that ensure efficient product flow. The manager will collaborate with various departments to align policies with compliance requirements and will serve as a subject matter expert in international logistics, managing relationships with suppliers and government agencies.

Responsibilities

  • Manage JM's North American international compliance and shipping activities.
  • Ensure compliance with US, Canada, and Mexico regulations and international shipping processes.
  • Communicate compliance concerns to Logistic Leaders regarding potential violations.
  • Manage US Customs CTPAT, Canada CARM, and other compliance programs.
  • Provide support for global trade programs such as USMCA, KORUS, and CAFTA.
  • Oversee HTS product classification and General Rules of Interpretation (GRI).
  • Control international transportation costs for North America ocean and air shipments.
  • Manage the Canadian Border Services Agency CARM program and compliance rules.
  • Supervise international transportation Associates and oversee the export process from order placement to delivery.
  • Lead JM's Export Compliance Program and manage training for import/export trade compliance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in operational import/export and compliance management.
  • Expert knowledge of US import/export regulations and good knowledge of Canada regulations.
  • Experience in negotiating and contracting international services.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Customs Brokerage license.
  • Working knowledge of Asia/Pacific, South American, and European import/export regulations.
  • Experience with Letters of Credit and documentary forms of payment.
