About the position

The International Multimedia Journalist - III (Spanish Service) is responsible for producing news and feature content for broadcasts and digital platforms. This role involves writing, editing, and translating content, as well as serving as a line producer and contributing to the development of various media programs. The journalist will work independently and collaboratively to meet production standards and deadlines while engaging with a global audience.

Responsibilities

• Writes and produces news and feature content for broadcasts and web and social media.
• Serves as line producer during programs, managing the timing and order of stories.
• Conducts and writes interviews for assigned stories.
• Adapts and translates content from English to Spanish and vice versa.
• Participates in the creation and development of radio and TV programs and web sections.
• Voices material for broadcasts, including content prepared by others.
• Contributes to production elements, including editing of taped material.
• Edits and approves copy and content prepared by others for broadcast and publication.
• Performs technical functions, including operation of equipment.
• Contributes to teamwork and facilitates tasks of teammates.
• Meets VOA standards for productivity, quality, and deadlines.
• Serves as videographer/reporter and anchor/program host as assigned.
• Makes suggestions about policy and workflow improvements.
• Logs and conducts data entry connected with VOA's digital asset management system.

Requirements

• Fluency in Spanish (written and spoken) and deep knowledge of the target area.
• Ability to adapt stories into English within assigned time frames.
• Experience in multimedia journalism and content production.
• Strong writing and editing skills for broadcast and digital media.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with social media content creation and management.
• Familiarity with digital asset management systems.
• Background in international reporting or broadcasting.
