About The Position

The Director of International Sales at MicroAire Surgical Instruments LLC is a key leadership role responsible for shaping the company's international sales strategy and driving growth. This position involves managing the international sales team, identifying growth opportunities, and building relationships with key distributors to achieve revenue and profit targets. The role requires extensive travel to international markets, particularly in Western Europe and Asia, and occasional travel to the company's headquarters in Charlottesville, Virginia.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field required; MBA, Master's, or PhD preferred.
  • Previous experience in the medical/healthcare industry required; at least 5 years in a medical device management role preferred.
  • Previous sales leadership experience, including responsibility for developing sales strategies and achieving revenue targets, required.
  • At least 5 years experience managing direct reports required; previous experience building or reshaping a team/department preferred.
  • Previous experience managing teams and customers across multiple regions and cultures required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience managing 3rd party distributors preferred.
  • Sensitivity to cultural differences in communication and relationship building.

Responsibilities

  • Establish departmental long-term strategy and priorities that align with MicroAire's strategic goals.
  • Develop and maintain sales budgets and forecasts to manage expectations.
  • Drive revenue and profit growth across all regions and business segments.
  • Enhance customer and international distributor satisfaction by ensuring high-quality service and support.
  • Implement distributor feedback mechanisms to identify product and service opportunities.
  • Identify potential distribution partners and develop strong relationships with existing distributors.
  • Lead high-level negotiations and contract management for key distributors.
  • Lead and manage the international sales team, setting performance targets and ensuring the team meets or exceeds sales goals.
  • Recruit, train, and mentor team members, fostering a high-performance culture and professional growth.
  • Work closely with other departments to ensure alignment and support for sales and marketing initiatives.
