About the position

At HCVT, we are seeking a Manager with strong domestic tax compliance skills who can advise both inbound and outbound clients on various international tax consulting and compliance matters. This role involves addressing the tax implications including structuring, planning, and reporting for our clients' international expansions and investments. Our international tax group is unique as we prepare domestic tax returns for clients while also assisting with international tax matters, allowing our professionals to become well-rounded tax experts through exposure to both domestic and international compliance and planning.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review tax returns for individuals and various entities such as partnerships, S corporations, and C corporations.
• Advise clients on inbound and outbound tax planning and reporting.
• Handle foreign reporting forms such as Forms 5471, 8865, 8858, 8938, 8621, and FBARs.
• Conduct tax research, writing, and analysis to apply tax rules to client situations.
• Recognize tax issues, planning opportunities, and implications of new tax laws across various industries.
• Manage multiple, simultaneous projects from various clients in a timely manner.
• Communicate effectively with clients and team members, drafting technical memoranda as needed.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of public accounting and/or corporate tax experience.
• Strong background in tax compliance and international tax matters.
• Broad exposure to Federal and State income tax preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
• Active CPA license is required.

Nice-to-haves

• J.D. or LL.M. is a plus but not required.
• Base knowledge in international tax rules and concepts applicable to corporations and individuals.
