About the position

The International Trade Compliance Engineer Staff at Lockheed Martin Corporation is responsible for ensuring compliance with international trade regulations while supporting export and import activities. This role involves applying engineering expertise to develop and implement compliance strategies, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring that products and services meet regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Apply engineering knowledge to determine export control status, jurisdiction, and classification of parts, components, and systems.
  • Conduct Jurisdiction Classification (J/C) specialist training for the engineering community.
  • Review technical documents and drawings for compliance with International Traffic in Arms Regulations and Export Administration Regulations.
  • Interact with program team personnel to understand products and services utilized in the MFC market segments.
  • Participate in compliance plans, projects, and process improvements to support business growth.
  • Review and interpret technical provisos and limitations imposed on export licenses.
  • Collaborate with the MFC Compliance Team on investigations into potential export/import issues.
  • Assist in identifying and addressing U.S. government technology and policy issues impacting technologies, products, and services.
  • Develop and implement export license applications, technical assistance agreements, and manufacturing license agreements.
  • Brief U.S. government engineering staff on product design and performance capabilities.

Requirements

  • Knowledge/experience with International Traffic in Arms Regulations and Export Administration Regulations.
  • Engineering knowledge/experience.
  • Ability to effectively collaborate with stakeholders.
  • Team player with the ability to work independently.
  • Ability to interpret requirements.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient writing skills.
  • Decision maker with a high degree of motivation and attention to detail.
  • Ability to obtain a Secret clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree in an Engineering or Technical discipline.
  • Experience in an Engineering discipline.
  • Experience translating technical information for non-technical audiences.

Nice-to-haves

  • Background in software engineering.
  • Experience in EPDM and SAP.
  • Basic review and approval experience in xClass tool.
  • Electrical Engineering background.
  • Familiarity with U.S. export policy.
  • Experience in preparation and submission of export license applications.
