About the position

The International Trade Compliance Intern will support manufacturing and distribution operations at Garmin, focusing on compliance with global trade regulations. This role involves process design, documentation, and analysis to ensure effective import/export practices and supply chain security.

Responsibilities

• Report classification information to Garmin Customs Brokers.
• Audit import/export documentation for accuracy/compliance.
• Perform basic classification of Garmin's finished goods for import/export.
• Conduct Denied Party List (DPL) screening for exports and manage red flags.
• File Electronic Export Information (EEI) for Garmin's U.S. exports.
• Correspond with foreign vendors/suppliers and the Garmin Sourcing team to obtain necessary documentation and information.
• Maintain regulatory required record keeping.
• Compile international trade data for analysis and reporting to ensure compliance and measure effectiveness.
• Assist with the maintenance and implementation of standardized international trade procedures and compliance projects.
• Maintain good working relationships with internal/external customers and government agencies.

Requirements

• Must be pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Operations, Supply Chain, Transportation, Logistics, Analytics, Business Administration or a related field.
• Excellent academics with a cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.0.
• Proficient in using MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Superior organizational and analytical skills with keen attention to detail.

Nice-to-haves

• Previous International Trade Compliance experience.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
• Demonstrates excellent written and verbal communication skills.
