About the position

The Internship - Business Intelligence & Analytics Engineer at ASML is designed for students pursuing a degree in relevant fields. This 12-week summer internship will take place on-site at the San Diego campus, focusing on extending and sustaining the enterprise data foundation to support business growth and insights. Interns will work at the intersection of data science and software engineering, contributing to the development of business intelligence solutions and collaborating with team members to analyze and improve business processes.

Responsibilities

• Work at the intersection of data science and software engineering to bring the knowledge graph to life.
• Engage in prototyping and experimentation, preferably with an interest in front-end engineering.
• Discuss analysis requirements with requestors to ensure clarity in delivery.
• Communicate results effectively, both verbally and in writing.
• Develop and manage business intelligence solutions for the organization.
• Provide reports to enhance business processes.
• Collaborate with team members to collect data and execute the company's mission.
• Analyze business requirements and recommend improvements to management and executives.
• Create and maintain documentation including design, requirements, and user manuals.
• Identify development needs to streamline operations for efficiency and profitability.
• Work with department technical lead on analysis methods and tools for specific projects.
• Conduct timely technical risk assessments.
• Participate in Scrum and SAFe rituals to promote an agile organization.
• Document and present findings, culminating in an end-of-summer presentation.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a Master's/Bachelor's degree program in Computer Science, Business Analytics, Data Analytics, Operations Management, or a related technical field.
• Exposure to knowledge graphs and their visualization and querying.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, JavaScript, React, and Tableau for data manipulation and visualization.
• Curiosity about data and a passion for uncovering insights from data sets.
• Knowledge of basic engineering principles to assist in deploying prototypes.
• Working knowledge of data science, data mining, database management, and programming.
• Familiarity with business process modeling and analysis.
• Understanding of statistical computing and graphics programming languages.
• Experience with Cloud computing, preferably Azure.

Nice-to-haves

• Interest in learning about graphs and algorithms that leverage them.
• Basic engineering skills for prototyping and experimentation.
