About the position

The Kansas City Mavericks are seeking enthusiastic and driven interns to join their Community Relations team for the 2024 - 2025 season. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the professional sports and entertainment industry. The ideal candidate will possess a professional demeanor and the ability to communicate effectively with supervisors and team members at all levels, both internally and externally. Attention to detail, the ability to multi-task, and the capacity to meet demanding deadlines are essential traits for success in this role. Interns will be expected to work independently, take initiative, and provide solutions while making informed decisions in a fast-paced environment. Interns will provide crucial gameday support to the Manager of Community Relations, assisting with various activation elements related to community partners. This includes participating in the planning and execution of player events within the community, interacting with clients, answering questions, and resolving any situations that may arise. Additionally, interns will help gameday staff with door giveaways, intermission activities, and other theme night promotions. The role may also include other responsibilities as required, making it a dynamic and engaging position for those looking to immerse themselves in the world of professional sports.

Responsibilities

• Provide gameday support to the Manager of Community Relations.
• Assist with gameday activation elements related to various community partners.
• Participate in the planning and execution of various player events in the community.
• Interact with clients, answer questions, and resolve situations as necessary.
• Help gameday staff with door giveaways, intermission activities, and other various theme night promotions.
• Perform other roles and responsibilities as required.

Requirements

• Current college student (undergraduate or graduate) who can receive course credit.
• Interest in pursuing a career in the professional sports and/or entertainment industry.
• Self-starter mentality and desire to take initiative.
• Ability to work all home games, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to lift 30 pounds.
