About the position

The Internship Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the Senator Durbin - Advocate Health Care Youth Pipeline Program, focusing on the development and management of internship onboarding processes, evaluation, data collection, and reporting. This role aims to enhance the conversion rate of interns to full-time hires by coordinating various activities related to the paid internship program and facilitating job placements for interns.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates the activities around the paid internship program, including screening applicant resumes and conducting interviews.
  • Assists in developing program guidelines and orientation schedules, and coordinates training sessions.
  • Facilitates job placement of interns by collaborating with operational leaders to identify department needs.
  • Maintains program timelines and tracks deadlines for various program components.
  • Reports program data and progress to key stakeholders.
  • Carries out administrative responsibilities related to the internship program, including inputting applicant information into the talent management database.
  • Collects and maintains performance evaluations and tracks performance and areas of interest for interns.
  • Conducts follow-ups after internship completion to support interns in identifying full-time employment opportunities.
  • Assists with the development, administration, and promotion of specific projects, such as creating surveys to assess interns' program experience.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or a related field.
  • Typically requires 2 years of experience in recruiting and an understanding of all stages of the employee life cycle.
  • Strong public speaking and presentation skills.
  • Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously and reprioritizing as required.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
  • Ability to interact with and build credibility among internal and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills.
