Internship Event Management (Summer 2025)

About the position

The Universal Destinations & Experiences Internship Program offers students the opportunity to support event managers at Universal Orlando Resort in planning and executing various events. Interns will gain hands-on experience by managing smaller events independently while collaborating with multiple departments to ensure successful event operations. This internship is designed for students pursuing degrees in relevant fields, providing a hybrid work experience in Orlando.

Responsibilities

• Support a wide range of events including meetings, corporate picnics, and community relations activities.
• Collaborate with Event Operations, Entertainment, Catering, and other departments to facilitate event logistics.
• Individually plan and execute a small meeting with guidance from Event Managers.
• Attend event-related meetings, complete and distribute itineraries, and track event budgets.
• Participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities as per UO policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing an Associate, Bachelor, or Graduate degree at an accredited institution with a class standing of Junior or above.
• Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8 required.
• Preferred majors include Event Management, Hospitality, or Theme Park Management.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Strong interpersonal skills and problem-solving abilities.
• Exceptional attention to detail and superior written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
• Ability to work autonomously and in teams.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in event planning or management.
• Familiarity with hospitality or theme park operations.
