About the position

The internship position at Search for Common Ground focuses on providing programmatic and administrative support to the Women's Inclusion in Security (WINS) project, which aims to enhance women's roles in peace and security across various conflict-affected countries. The intern will work closely with the rapid response team to manage the Global Women, Peace, and Security Rapid Response Fund, ensuring effective coordination and support for local women-led organizations. This role is essential for responding to the evolving needs of these organizations and contributing to peacebuilding efforts globally.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct initial reviews of new applications according to the RRF assessment criteria.
  • Attend check-in meetings with implementing partners and other relevant events, taking detailed notes and sharing summaries with the team.
  • Provide logistical and administrative assistance for the daily management of the Fund, including organizing applications and updating the RRF tracker.
  • Translate applications received in languages other than English using advanced translation software.
  • Maintain organized filing of documents on digital drives and assist in managing documentation processes.
  • Monitor the RRF email, respond to inquiries, and provide guidance to Women Led Organizations (WLOs).
  • Conduct research on recent contextual shifts and policies related to Women, Peace, and Security in target countries.
  • Engage flexibly in various essential tasks as required.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing or having completed a degree in International Relations, Peace and Conflict Studies, Gender Studies, Political Science, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct thorough research in areas related to Women, Peace, and Security.
  • Demonstrated interest and experience in Women, Peace, and Security (WPS).
  • Capacity for critical analysis and the ability to synthesize complex information into clear summaries.
  • Strong organizational skills for managing large volumes of information and applications.
  • Demonstrated flexibility and adaptability in handling various tasks.
  • Keen attention to detail in monitoring and updating crucial data.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and take initiative.

Nice-to-haves

  • Proficiency in additional languages relevant to the RRF target countries (Arabic, Spanish).
