Internship in Central Controlling (International Student)

About the position

The internship in Central Controlling at Mercedes-Benz U.S. International, Inc. offers international students an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in financial processes and reporting within a leading automotive manufacturing environment. Interns will engage in various projects aimed at optimizing financial reporting, developing planning systems, and supporting business processes, all while contributing to the company's commitment to excellence and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Support multiple projects based on current needs, including optimization of financial reporting processes and automation of reports using RPA.
• Assist in the development of a new planning system (TM1 database).
• Create reporting dashboards using Power-BI.
• Further develop and optimize SharePoint functionalities.
• Contribute fresh ideas for continuous improvement within the company.
• Support general business processes related to Finance in an international context.
• Assist in controlling activities for the new battery plant, including updating cost planning in collaboration with business partners.
• Support month-end closing activities and perform deviation analysis.
• Assist in reporting activities from Mercedes-Benz U.S. International Inc. to Mercedes-Benz AG in Germany.
• Prepare presentations to aid management decision-making processes.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a University or in a gap year between Bachelor's and Master's degree.
• Studies outside of the U.S.A (applications from students currently studying in the U.S.A are not accepted).
• A minimum of 3 semesters of studies in a relevant field (Finance/Controlling, Mechanical Engineering, or related area).
• Available for a minimum of 6 months.
• Fluent in English (oral and written).
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Knowledge in Finance/Controlling, Data Science, and Reporting Dashboards (SAP, Power-BI, Tableau, Power Query).
