About the position

The Data Engineer role at Upper Hand involves designing, constructing, installing, testing, and maintaining scalable data management systems. Responsibilities

• Design, construct, install, test, and maintain highly scalable data management systems.
• Ensure systems meet business requirements and industry practices.
• Build high-performance algorithms, prototypes, predictive models, and proof of concepts.
• Integrate new data management technologies and software engineering tools into existing structures.
• Create data tools for analytics and data scientist team members to enhance product capabilities.
• Employ a variety of languages and tools to marry systems together.
• Recommend ways to improve data reliability, efficiency, and quality.
• Collaborate with data architects, modelers, and IT team members on project goals.

Requirements

• Proven track record working or building a career as a Data Engineer or in a similar role.
• In-depth understanding of data tools and technologies, including data streaming, data warehousing, and data transformation.
• Proficiency in coding languages such as Python, Java, or Scala.
• Experience in database technologies like SQL, NoSQL, Hadoop, or similar frameworks.
• Education in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related fields.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work in cross-functional teams.
• Strong problem-solving ability.
