About the position

As a Manufacturing Engineering Intern, you will collaborate with the Manufacturing Engineering team to support continuous improvement projects in DUV manufacturing. This role involves working with electrical, mechanical, and optical assemblies in a production environment, maintaining assembly work instructions, and analyzing production and quality data.

Responsibilities

• Supports Manufacturing Engineering with project work.
• Prepares, analyzes and reports factory metrics.
• Performs process time studies.
• Creates or updates assembly and test work instructions.
• Recommends and implements process improvements.
• Participates as a member of cross-functional teams.
• Investigates problems and recommends/analyzes possible solutions.
• Prepares and delivers reports on work progress.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Engages in hands-on work in the factory.

Requirements

• Must be pursuing a degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Materials, or Industrial Engineering.
• Knowledge or experience reading drawings, creating work instructions, and using statistics for engineering applications.
• Familiar with Lean Manufacturing, 5S, 8D, FMEA, and 5 Why's analysis.
• Familiarity with Bill of Materials (BOM) structures.
• Ability to work in a cleanroom manufacturing environment.
• Excellent written, verbal communication and presentation skills.
• Customer service focus with hands-on, multitasking, priority setting and risk management skills.
• Proficient use of all Microsoft Office suite programs.
• Experience or familiarity with using statistical software (JMP, Minitab, etc.).
• Knowledge of MES.
