About the position

The Manufacturing Engineering Intern will collaborate with the Manufacturing Engineering team to support continuous improvement projects in DUV manufacturing. This role involves hands-on work with electrical, mechanical, and optical assemblies, as well as maintaining assembly work instructions and analyzing production and quality data.

Responsibilities

  • Supports Manufacturing Engineering with project work.
  • Prepares, analyzes and reports factory metrics.
  • Perform process time studies.
  • Create or update assembly and test work instructions.
  • Recommend and implement process improvements.
  • Participate as a member of cross-functional teams.
  • Investigate problems and recommend/analyze possible solutions.
  • Prepare and deliver reports on work progress.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Must be pursuing a degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Materials, or Industrial Engineering.
  • Knowledge or experience reading drawings, creating work instructions, and the use of statistics for engineering applications.
  • Familiar with Lean Manufacturing, 5S, 8D, FMEA, and 5 Why's analysis.
  • Familiarity with Bill of Materials (BOM) structures.
  • Ability to work in cleanroom manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent written, verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • Customer service focus.
  • Hands on, multitasking, priority setting and risk management.
  • Team focused but individually accountable.
  • Proficient use of all Microsoft Office suite programs.
  • Experience or familiar with using statistical software (JMP, Minitab, other).
  • Knowledge of MES.
