About the position

The person in this position will work on project teams involved in mechanical engineering and related technical assignments. Project assignments may include collecting field information, providing on-site construction assistance, completing engineering calculations and analyses, selecting equipment and components, preparing design drawings and specifications, writing technical reports, preparing sketches for system arrangement, and developing details of designs. This role is essential in ensuring that projects are executed efficiently and effectively, contributing to the overall success of the engineering team. The intern will gain hands-on experience in various aspects of mechanical engineering, working closely with experienced professionals in the field. All applications must include transcripts to verify academic progress and qualifications. The position requires ongoing enrollment in a mechanical engineering degree program, with at least two years of progress toward the degree. Familiarity with Microsoft Windows OS and Microsoft Office software is essential, as these tools will be used frequently in daily tasks. The ideal candidate will demonstrate conscientiousness concerning the accuracy, appropriateness, and timeliness of results, showcasing a thorough, organized, and detailed approach to their work. Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills are necessary to effectively collaborate with project team members and clients. A flexible working style is important, as the intern will need to work independently and with teams of specialists to meet client and project needs. Legal authorization to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship from Barr, now or in the future, is also required. A valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record are necessary for this role, as some project assignments may require travel to various work sites.
