About the position

The Universal Destinations & Experiences Internship Program offers interns a comprehensive overview of managing social media channels and digital communities within a Fortune 500 company. Interns will engage in strategic planning, campaign development, and content creation for various social media platforms, gaining valuable experience in the field.

Responsibilities

  • Generates engaging and relevant content for Universal Orlando's owned social media platforms.
  • Develops visually appealing graphics, images, and videos to enhance social media posts.
  • Captures and edits photography and/or videography with a social-first lens.
  • Writes captions and creates copy for social media posts.
  • Responds to comments, messages, and mentions on social media platforms in a timely manner.
  • Fosters and builds relationships with the online community.
  • Partners closely with internal marketing, communications, and design teams for consistent messaging.
  • Assists in managing and scheduling social media posts.
  • Monitors social media channels for industry trends and competitor activities.
  • Assists in generating high-level strategy and tactical plans to support the business.
  • Participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities according to UO policy.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • In pursuit of an Associate, Bachelor or Graduate degree at an Accredited Institution with current class standing of Junior or above.
  • Minimum cumulative 2.8 GPA is required.
  • Required knowledge of and ability to write for social-first content.
  • Required skills in graphic design, photo editing, and/or video editing.
  • Must be efficient in Microsoft Office Programs including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, problem-solving abilities, and organization.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Superior written & verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adhere to deadlines.
  • Ability to work autonomously and/or in teams.

  • Preferred majors include Marketing, Advertising, Communications, Writing, Social Media.
