About the position

The Software Developer Intern at Rockwell Automation will work collaboratively with a team to define, build, test, and deliver quality software products. This role is designed for individuals pursuing a degree in computer science or engineering, providing an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in software development within a leading global technology company focused on industrial automation and digital transformation.

Responsibilities

  • Recommend, set up, and maintain a software development framework that is easy and sustainable for other Engineers to use.
  • Work with the team to organize and manage work, including participation during refinement sessions.
  • Balance skillset, interest, and product needs to define, build, test, and deliver software as necessary.
  • Be responsible and accountable for the product's requirements/design definition, build, test, and delivery alongside team members.
  • Work effectively with the Product Owner, Scrum Master, Release Train Engineer, Product Manager, and stakeholders regarding tools, processes, techniques, and relationships.
  • Identify and navigate blocking items that prevent planned work from being completed.

Requirements

  • Must be pursuing a bachelor's or advanced degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Legal authorization to work in the US is required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Pursuing a bachelor's degree in computer science or computer engineering.
  • Knowledge of software integration and configuration management.
  • Knowledge of software tools, technology-stack evaluation, and selection.
  • Programming experience with Web development using Angular, C#, C++ and/or ASP.NET Web APIs.
  • Ability to design, build, and maintain Web applications and hybrid Web applications.
  • Desire to work on a self-organized Scrum Team.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines.
  • Knowledge of automated tests.
  • Interest in the industrial automation industry.
  • Interest in UX (user experience).
