This supervised position will allow for a Supply Chain Services student who is interested in a career in the power industry to apply and enhance their knowledge. This position will require the individual to work a normal day shift. This job will be based out of the Calpine Corporation Corporate Office (Houston, Texas). This position may require office or work from home hours.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with contract renewals
  • Assist with spend data and contract clause evaluations prior to renewals
  • Assess Supplier Record in ISN and D&B and provide results to the contracts, legal, insurance, and safety teams
  • Monitor upcoming renewals and prepare amendments as needed
  • Review Supplier records in Coupa Supplier Portal as needed basis
  • Shadow Contracts Specialist on New Contract Negotiations

Requirements

  • Pursuing Law Degree
  • Prefer GPA of 3.25 or higher
  • Qualified candidate must be a rising second or third year law student and be actively enrolled at an accredited law school at the time of internship
  • Legally eligible to work in the United States now and in the future
  • Full-time or part-time position
  • Excellent oral, written and communication/presentation skills
  • Has strong analytical and problem solving capabilities
  • Collaborates well with cross-functional group
  • Good organization skills and attention to details are essential
