About The Position

The Interpreter Services Coordinator (Program Coordinator I) at the Massachusetts Department of Transportation is responsible for managing the requests and coordination of language interpreters for road exams. This role involves daily communication with various stakeholders, including RMV staff and Baystate Interpreter Services, to ensure timely and efficient scheduling of interpreters for customers. The coordinator will also handle cancellations, updates, and reporting related to interpreter services, while maintaining accurate records in the ATLAS system and shared spreadsheets.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field.
  • 1 year of experience in a relevant administrative role.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with API systems.

Responsibilities

  • Request interpreters via the API system in ATLAS for approximately 300 customers daily.
  • Coordinate with Service Center managers to schedule in-person permit exams and communicate with customers regarding dates and interpreter confirmations.
  • Monitor and manage 'Needs Attention' cases in the ATLAS system, ensuring timely updates and cancellations are processed.
  • Maintain the MassDOT WFMA Road Test Examiner Mailbox and update shared Excel spreadsheets with interpreter changes and cancellations.
  • Provide end-of-day reporting to RMV Road Exam Staff regarding interpreter availability and scheduling issues.
  • Conduct monthly reporting of interpreter statistics and check in with Road Exam senior staff regarding availability changes.
  • Act as a liaison between RMV Road Exam Staff and Baystate, fielding requests and updates regarding interpreter services.
