About the position

The Intervention Specialist at Community Solutions, Inc. (CSI) plays a crucial role in providing community-based alternatives to incarceration through the AIC program. This position focuses on empowering individuals involved in the justice system by offering multifaceted intervention services. The specialist will utilize evidence-based models and Motivational Interviewing techniques to assess client needs and promote their independence and self-sufficiency in a supportive environment.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, plan and facilitate individual and group sessions according to curriculum/manual.
  • Actively participate in Service Team Meetings, presenting client assessments and updates.
  • Provide and elicit peer support for client issues as needed.
  • Attend all required trainings and refreshers, including Motivational Interviewing and group facilitation.
  • Document group and individual sessions in CSI and CSSD data collection systems on the same day.
  • Secure urines from same sex clients and complete required paperwork and electronic documentation.
  • Monitor case load to ensure random requests for urines and breathalyzes are secured.
  • Perform tasks carried out by the Case Manager as directed.
  • Provide coverage of front desk duties as assigned.
  • Maintain knowledge of and abide by the Agency's programs, policies, procedures and code of ethics.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.
  • One year of experience in domestic violence training and group facilitation.
  • One year of experience in the social services field.
  • Strong judgment and decision-making abilities.
  • Proficient time management skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and experience using data systems.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in trauma-informed practices.
  • Additional certifications in social services or related fields.
