About the position

The Intervention Teacher (Math) at Stopher Elementary School is responsible for coordinating and assisting the Exceptional Child Education (ECE) team to enhance student achievement. This role involves administering assessments, interpreting results, and ensuring compliance with district procedures related to exceptional children. The teacher will also provide technical assistance for the implementation of relevant regulations and laws governing special education.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and assist the school-based Exceptional Child Education (ECE) team to support student achievement.
  • Administer, score, and interpret assessments for students.
  • Maintain compliance with district Exceptional Child Education procedures.
  • Provide technical assistance and support for the implementation of Kentucky Administration Regulations (KARs) and the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA).

Requirements

  • Kentucky Teaching Certificate in Special Education.
  • Master's Degree or higher.
  • Three (3) years of successful teaching experience in special education or equivalent professional experience.
  • Ability to work successfully with people.
  • Working knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations regarding programs for exceptional children.
  • Ability to work cooperatively in a team situation.
  • Demonstrated decision-making abilities.

Nice-to-haves

  • Consultant certification (CA-27) in the area/grade span for which the certificate is requested.
  • Teacher Leader or Supervisor of Instruction endorsement.

Benefits

  • Salary range from $48,038.41 to $95,716.45 based on board approved salary placement rules.
  • 187 days of work per year with 7 hours per day.
