About the position

The Interventional Pain: Advance Practice Provider at Mayfield Brain and Spine is responsible for providing comprehensive medical management for patients in an interventional pain management setting. This role emphasizes rapid access for new patients, non-opioid medication management, and the performance of various injections. The provider will also act as a liaison between patients and physicians, ensuring effective communication and care coordination.

Responsibilities

  • Provide rapid access for new patients within the interventional pain management structure.
  • Perform medical management of patients, including assessment, treatment plan establishment, and documentation in the EMR.
  • Administer trigger point injections, bursa injections, and joint injections.
  • Act as a liaison between physician and patient, ensuring clear communication and availability.
  • Utilize clinic visits and virtual follow-up options to enhance patient access and care coordination.
  • Document all patient interactions promptly and thoroughly in the medical record.
  • Maintain and upgrade clinical skills through professional development activities.
  • Provide health education and clinical information to patients and staff.
  • Plan and implement educational programs for patients and families, including discharge planning.
  • Collaborate on research projects and clinical studies as needed.
  • Assist in clinical quality improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or PA program with a current license to practice in Ohio (and Kentucky if required).
  • Active certificate to prescribe.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in an acute healthcare setting.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.
  • Proven organizational and analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Working knowledge of computers and practice management software.
