About the position

As an Interventional Radiology Registered Nurse (RN) at AdventHealth Shawnee Mission, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care within a multidisciplinary team. This position is PRN (as needed), allowing for flexibility in your schedule while still being a vital part of our healthcare community. You will be responsible for coordinating care for patients, ensuring that their physical, emotional, and spiritual needs are met. Your role will involve direct patient care, collaborating with patients, families, and healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive care tailored to individual patient populations. Utilizing the nursing process, you will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care to maintain and improve outcomes. You will demonstrate leadership and management skills, showing a commitment to professional growth and accountability. As you advance in your nursing career, you will strive to become an evidence-based scholar, advocating for your patients and providing optimal care. You will also serve as a role model for the mission, vision, and values of Shawnee Mission Health, ensuring compliance with the Kansas Nurse Practice Act and all regulatory standards. In this role, you will assure patient safety by adhering to established policies and procedures, implementing care plans based on identified needs, and actively participating in team activities such as bedside shift reports and multidisciplinary rounds. Your contributions will be essential in promoting optimal patient outcomes through effective teaching and discharge planning.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the efforts of the multidisciplinary care team for patients.
  • Provide direct patient care and collaborate with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
  • Utilize the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation) to improve patient outcomes.
  • Demonstrate leadership and management skills in nursing practice.
  • Participate in bedside shift reports, safety huddles, and multidisciplinary patient rounds.
  • Implement care plans according to identified physical, psychosocial, and spiritual needs.
  • Provide patient teaching and discharge planning.

Requirements

  • Kansas Registered Nurse License
  • BCLS certification obtained through the American Heart Association
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or obtained within 4 years of employment
