About the position

The Interventional Radiology RN PRN position at AdventHealth Shawnee Mission is designed for a Registered Nurse who will coordinate the efforts of a multidisciplinary care team for patients within their scope of responsibility. This role involves providing direct patient care and collaborating with patients, families, peers, physicians, and other healthcare team members to deliver care to a specific patient population. The RN will utilize the nursing process, which includes assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, to maintain and improve patient outcomes. In this role, the RN is expected to demonstrate leadership and management skills while committing to professional accountability and growth. The RN will strive to advance from novice to expert, becoming an evidence-based scholar to provide optimal patient care and advocate for their patients. The RN will serve as a role model for the mission, vision, and values of Shawnee Mission Health, ensuring compliance with the Kansas Nurse Practice Act, regulatory standards, and established policies, protocols, and procedures. The RN will assure patient safety by adhering to established policies and procedures and utilizing patient safety resources. They will implement a plan of care according to identified physical, psychosocial, and spiritual needs, demonstrating the ability to prioritize nursing interventions based on patient needs and available resources. Active participation in bedside shift reports, safety huddles, multidisciplinary patient rounds, and hourly rounding is essential to gather necessary information for patient care, anticipate needs, and ensure smooth hand-offs to other healthcare team members. Additionally, the RN will provide patient teaching and discharge planning to promote optimal patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Kansas Registered Nurse License
  • BCLS obtained through the American Heart Association
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or obtained within 4 years of employment
