About the position
The Senior Scrum Master will lead and support the development and quality control teams by ensuring that all team members understand project goals and workflows. This role involves coaching teams in scrum methodologies, facilitating scrum events, and maintaining the product backlog. The Senior Scrum Master will also assist in removing obstacles for developers and ensure that the team adheres to the defined workflows and schedules.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the team understands project goals and scope defined by the Project Owner and Engineering Leads.
- Lead and protect the Development and Quality Control teams through coaching and guidance in scrum methodologies.
- Facilitate scrum events such as daily standups and meetings as needed.
- Assist the Product Owner in maintaining the product backlog.
- Encourage the organization to adopt scrum methodologies in their workflow.
- Guide the team in using JIRA effectively and keeping it updated.
- Remove obstacles to developers' progress and escalate issues appropriately.
- Keep leadership informed about the progress of scrum teams' projects.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience as a Scrum Master.
- Proficiency in Jira and Confluence.
- Technical comfort with application and platform software development.
