About the position

The Inventory Analyst at PROENERGY plays a crucial role in managing inventory processes to ensure timely and accurate inventory movements. This position involves monitoring inventory transactions, identifying variances, and enhancing inventory management efficiency. The analyst will collaborate with the operations team to develop and implement effective inventory control procedures, conduct audits, and generate reports to support decision-making.

Responsibilities

  • Processing daily inventory transactions in the system.
  • Monitoring inventory movements in the ERP system (GP) and tracking orders.
  • Conducting stock count analysis and reporting as necessary.
  • Assisting with month-end closing activities including journal entries and financial analysis.
  • Collaborating with the operations team to improve inventory control processes.
  • Generating and analyzing inventory reports to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Conducting process and data audits to ensure control effectiveness.
  • Performing weekly inventory account reconciliation (system to physical).
  • Monitoring slow-moving inventory to minimize obsolescence and maximize profitability.
  • Processing journal entries and work order cost transfers related to inventory transactions.
  • Supporting the accounting team during financial statement audits by preparing necessary documentation.
  • Performing special projects and other tasks as assigned by the Division Controller.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, finance, or a similar business degree.
  • 2-3 years of accounting, finance, or related experience using financial and operational tools and systems (MRP, ERP).
  • Proven experience as an Inventory Analyst or in a similar role.
  • Basic understanding of financial and accounting principles and practices.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and financial management software, especially Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and high degree of accuracy.
  • Highly organized with the ability to prioritize responsibilities effectively to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication (both oral & written) and interpersonal skills.
  • Proactive and self-motivated with the ability to work well in a team-oriented environment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Great Plains Financials or related system.
  • Knowledge of Manufacturing, supply chain, and procurement workflows and systems.
  • Knowledge of Cost Accounting, Inventory management processes and tools.
